Rsorder Old School RuneScape Kurask Slayer Guide
Kurasks are a mid-to-high-level Slayer monster in Old School RuneScape that offer strong Slayer experience and consistent utility drops. Requiring 70 Slayer and 65 Combat, Kurasks are an excellent task with OSRS Fire Cape for players progressing through the mid-game, especially those looking to balance experience with profitability and efficiency.
Before starting, it is important to understand one critical mechanic: Kurasks can only be damaged with leaf-bladed weapons or broad ammunition. Without the proper equipment, you will deal zero damage, regardless of stats or prayers.
Required Weapons and Combat Options
A leaf-bladed weapon is mandatory when fighting Kurasks. These can be purchased from Slayer Masters or the Grand Exchange. Your main melee options include:
· Leaf-bladed spear
· Leaf-bladed sword
· Leaf-bladed battleaxe (best-in-slot melee option)
Ranged combat is also viable, but you must use broad arrows or broad bolts, which function as “leaf-bladed” ranged ammunition. Common setups include a magic shortbow with broad arrows or a rune crossbow with broad bolts.
Recommended Gear Setups
Do not be discouraged by high-end setups-Kurasks can be killed efficiently with modest gear.
Helmet: Slayer helmet is best-in-slot. If unavailable, use a black mask, Neitiznot helm, or any strong melee helmet.
Body and Legs: Prioritize prayer or melee strength bonuses. Options include Proselyte, Sunfire Fanatic gear, Barrows armor, a fighter torso, or any higher-tier melee armor you own.
Gloves: Ferocious gloves are optimal, but Barrows gloves, dragon gloves, rune gloves, or similar alternatives work perfectly well.
Boots: Any melee boots such as rune, dragon, guardian, primordial, or upgraded variants are acceptable.
Cape, Amulet, and Ring: Use your best available cape. Prayer cloaks are helpful. Amulets range from glory up to fury, torture, or rancor. Ring choices include berserker ring, brimstone ring, Lightbearer, wilderness rings, or even an explorer’s ring for prayer bonus.
Shield: A defender is ideal, but any solid off-hand works.
Blessing: Strongly recommended for additional prayer bonus-any god blessing or Rada’s blessing if available.
Inventory Setup
A standard melee inventory should include:
· Super combat potions (or individual stat boosts)
· Prayer potions
· Herb sack (Kurasks drop many herbs)
· Bonecrusher (auto-buries bones)
· Teleport to Slayer Master (e.g., Kourend gloves)
· Fairy ring teleport access
· Rune pouch with house teleport runes (optional but efficient)
If ranging, swap melee gear for black d’hide or better, an Ava’s accumulator or range cape, and Pegasian-style boots if available.
Location and How to Get There
Kurasks are located in the Fremennik Slayer Dungeon. The fastest route is via the fairy ring code AJR, which teleports you directly to the dungeon entrance.
Once inside, navigate through the winding cave system. If you have Agility shortcuts unlocked, you can significantly shorten the trip. If not, simply follow the cave path-it loops naturally toward the Kurask area.
There are two sections:
· Off-task Kurasks on the lower level
· On-task Kurasks up the stairs
For ranged users, there is a safe tile in the on-task area where Kurasks cannot attack you, making it ideal for low-risk ranging.
Combat Strategy
Pray Protect from Melee at all times. Melee players can activate Piety for faster kills if prayer allows. Kurasks are straightforward enemies with no special attacks, making them easy to manage once positioned correctly.
Drops and Task Value
Kurasks are not known for rare, high-value uniques, but their drop table is extremely useful. Notable drops include:
· Leaf-bladed battleaxe
· Leaf-bladed sword
· Mystic robe top (light)
· Rune and adamant equipment (excellent alchemy value)
· Large quantities of herbs and seeds
· White berries, papaya fruit, coconuts, flax, and coins
These drops make Kurasks a strong task for Ironmen and main accounts alike. While not flashy, they provide excellent Slayer experience and steady profit, especially at lower combat levels.
Overall, Kurasks are a highly recommended Slayer task with Cheap OSRS Fire Cape that rewards preparation and efficiency with reliable progression and utility.
