Los Angeles, January 5 — The Art Directors Guild has revealed its nominees across nine production-design categories for the ADG’s 15th Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards, recognizing work in features, television, commercials and music videos for 2010.

Nominations were announced by ADG Council President Tom Walsh together with awards co-producers Dawn Snyder and Tom Wilkins. Final online voting closes February 3; winners will be revealed at a black‑tie ceremony on Saturday, February 5, 2011 in the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. Paula Poundstone returns as host.

This year’s ceremony carries the theme “Designs on Film,” honoring Cathy Whitlock’s new HarperCollins book that surveys a century of Hollywood art direction. Walsh will introduce the program. The ADG will present its Lifetime Achievement Award to Academy Award–winning production designer Patricia Norris, to be presented by filmmaker David Lynch. The Guild will also induct legendary designers Alexander Golitzen, Albert Heschong and Eugène Lourié into its Hall of Fame. The ADG Cinematic Imagery Award goes to longtime visual‑effects artists Syd Dutton and Bill Taylor of Illusion Arts.
